Album Artwork for Gratts
ANALOG TECHNIQUES | ARTISTIC CONCEPTS
Tristan Jong, AKA Gratts, approached me after viewing my solo exhibition in late 2022, to work with him on his upcoming project of record releases. Sun Circles was to be the debut record.The artwork was to reflect the fluidity the tracks, and to be an engaging, tranquil, yet timeless design.
We chose to create the artwork using analog techniques – as to best capture the free flowing line-work. The artwork was painted on wooden board and scan-photographed for digital production.
After the first release we began to work together on his next album – Jour De fête. With a tropical Afro-Caribbean sound, the artwork was to be vibrant, groovy and super fun.
